Officials play an important role in making thousands of events run smoothly. From working national championships to officiating high-school track meets, officials are essential for maintaining the highest levels of integrity at all levels of competition. 2019 Fall Officials Clinic:

Date: Saturday Afternoon, September 14, 2019
Registration is 12:30 PM
LDR Introductory Clinic is 1 PM to 4 PM
Location: Westfield Area YMCA

The clinic is free and sufficient for the clinic requirement to get certified. Candidates have the option of also attending a track & field-oriented clinic next March or a later date.

Candidates  must finish eight requirements detailed on the website to get certified.

The first four requirements are to complete an application (available online and at the clinic), pay a $20 national application fee, attend a clinic, and complete a take-home test/review of the rule book that will be handed out.

The other four requirements are to be a USATF member, do a SafeSport online course (about an hour), get a background check, and send a digital picture to our certification Vice Chair.

Agenda: 2019 Review, 2020 Schedule, 2020 March Elections, 2020 Compensation.

1. Fill out an application for the 4-year Olympiad;
2. Pay an application fee of $20;
3. Attend a free introductory clinic offered twice yearly in NJ;
4. After the clinic, send in a take-home review;
5. Send a digital headshot for certification badge;
6. Become a USATF member ($30 annually or $100 for four years);
7. Get a USATF-approved background check;
8. Take USOC Safe Sport course online or in person;
(Requirements do not have to be done all at once or in order.)
